What is the maximum group size?

The maximum group size on one plot is 6 people. If you have a group larger than 6 people you will have to book more than one plot, however these plots will be spread apart. We do this to minimise impact on the land from campers and give each plot privacy.

This is decided by the landowner you are booking with. All bookings are non-refunable unless stated in a landowners booking terms.

All of our sites are unique, because each site is different, they are priced individually. The site listings show the price of a plot per night and will vary depending on location and facilities.

Where does my money go?

We are working with landowners to open up unique and previously inaccessible sites for you to enjoy responsibly. A share of you booking cost is taken by the Landowner and this helps support rural economies across England and Wales. A small booking fee is taken by Wild Acre.

Will other people be using the site at the same time as me?

This will depend on whether there are mulitple plots on the site. Plot bookings are for exclusive use. Only one booking can be made at any one time meaning you will have exclusivity of your plot for the period of your booking enabling you to enjoy the tranquillity of your camping. We aim to keep all plots spread across the sites to insure that you will not see or hear other plots. Please see the image below Site descriptor

Is my land the right fit?

Sites on our site range from woodlands, lake-sides, hill tops and valleys. Popular locations are likely to offer a bit of shade, a babbling stream or be close to local services and tourist routes. Campers are looking for back-to-basic camping and a unique, tranquil offering. Email info@wildacre.camp to find out more.

What does it cost to host?

Nothing. Listing your site with us is entirely free we just take a 15% booking fee of each booking

Do I need to offer toilets and facilities?

There is no obligation to provide any facilities though offering fresh water, or a nearby toilet, or long-drop facility may mean your site is more popular with Campers. For campsites that do not have toilet facilities, this can be noted in your terms of booking. You are able to state how campers are expected to go, and where. A trowel to dig a small hole might be neccacery or maybe biodegradable bags. All campers have pledged to leave no trace.

What should I charge?

What you decide to charge is entirely up to you, though obviously opting for a price that is attractive for Campers will mean you are more likely to generate bookings.

How much money will I make?

This will depend on how much land you choose to list, how much you choose to list your plots for and how many bookings you receive.

How do I legally rent my land?

Landowners can legally rent a pitch of land for up to 56 non-consecutive days of the year up to the end of 2021. Due to the basic nature of the sites, landowners will not need planning permission or a site licence to take part in our scheme.
